NBC, MULTICHOICE STRENGTHEN TIES

A delegation from MultiChoice Nigeria, led by the newly-appointed CEO, Mrs. Kemi Omotosho, visited the headquarters of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) today to strengthen bilateral ties and explore new frontiers for the Nigerian broadcasting industry.

The visit served as a formal introductory session between the MultiChoice Chief Executive Officer and the Board of Management of the NBC. The engagement underscored a shared vision for a more robust, technologically advanced, and collaborative media landscape.

During the session, Mrs. Kemi Omotosho expressed her appreciation for the Commission’s regulatory oversight and emphasised the importance of synergy between operators and regulators.

“This visit is a vital step toward reinforcing our long-standing collaboration with the NBC,” said Mrs. Omotosho. “MultiChoice remains fully committed to working under the guidance of the Commission to ensure we continue to deliver value while advancing the standards of broadcasting in Nigeria.”

Responding to the delegation, the Director General of the NBC, Mr. Charles Ebuebu, commended MultiChoice for the proactive engagement.

He noted that as the media environment shifts toward more digital-centric models, such partnerships are essential for sustainable growth.

The meeting concluded with a commitment from both parties to maintain an open channel of communication. By aligning regulatory frameworks with private sector innovation, both the NBC and MultiChoice aim to solidify Nigeria’s position as a leader in the African media ecosystem.
