NIGERIA CAN WIN AFCON TITLE, MOSES SIMON

Super Eagles winger, Moses Simon is upbeat that Nigeria has what it takes to defeat any of its opponent as it charges towards a fourth AFCON title.

Simon was in action on Monday evening when the Super Eagles defeated group stage opponent Guinea-Bissau to reach the 2023 Africa Cup Of Nations (AFCON) knockout stages.

The FC Nantes forward was instrumental for the Green and White Eagles, mesmerising opposition defenders with his skills.

After a keenly contested thirty minutes, Nigeria put themselves in front with about nine minutes to the end of first period.

Simon received a quick pass from teammate, raced with the ball towards the opponent’s box, and upon sighting Osimhen in the box laid a low cross. But in a bit to relieve the pressure, defender Opa Sangate ballooned the ball into his own net.

The Owngoal was all that the Super Eagles needed to qualify for the knockout stages. Speaking after the match, Moses who won the player of the match award, revealed his team isn’t afraid of any opposition.

“It was a good win for us. To make it from the group was a good one for us, “ Simon said during his post-match interaction with the media.

“We are not thinking about the opponent we will be facing in the next round. I can’t even say we have any preference on a team we want to face.” He said.
