ODEGBAMI TO DELIVER FUL’ PUBLIC LECTURE

The Federal University Lokoja (FUL) is set to host Nigerian football legend, Dr. Olusegun Odegbami, as he delivers the institution’s 15th Distinguished Public Lecture.

Scheduled for Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at 10:00 am, Odegbami’s lecture is titled “Sport has the Power to Change the World – How True?” The event promises to be an enlightening discourse on the transformative power of sports.

A renowned footballer, Odegbami is a former captain of the Nigerian Green Eagles and a sports journalist. He won 46 caps and scored 23 goals for the Nigeria national team, leading them to their first Africa Cup of Nations title in 1980.

Odegbami’s illustrious career spanned 14 years, playing for IICC Shooting Stars of Ibadan. His nickname “Mathematical” was coined by legendary Nigerian football commentator, Ernest Okonkwo.

The Vice-Chancellor of FUL, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, has extended an invitation to members of the university community and the general public to attend this prestigious event.
