Megaletrics Limited, a broadcast media production and distribution company is the operator of Beat, Classic and Naija Fm.
Megalectrics was towards the end of 2008, granted a Radio Broadcast Licence for Lagos before expanding its niche to other parts of the country.
The company started in 2009 with Beat FM and classic FM and after 2 years they started Naijaloaded FM then 4 years later they created Lagos talks.
These radio stations appeal to different demographics and psychographics.
Serving different purposes, Beat FM was created basically for the youths and the station focuses more on the youth, with lifestyle programs, Celebrity presenters e.t.c.
Classic FM was created to cater more for the older people, and thus, we have the station plays old-school music, does programs that focus on health and others things that affect that age group.
Naija FM on the other hand was created to cater for the the grassroot audience with local languages. While Lagos talks is a conversational radio station.
Some years ago, the company started Beat 103.6 in London which made it the first African station on the FM band and later moved to DAB which makes the station heard all over U.K.
The CEO cum Managing Director, Megaletrics, Christopher Ubosi is a Nigerian broadcaster, quantity surveyor and project manager.
Ubosi was born in Nsukka before moving to Lagos. He attended St Marya Private school Maryland, Lagos and proceeded to Federal Government college, Ijanikin for his secondary education.
Ubosi studied Quantity surveying at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife for his first degree. He obtained his MSC in project management at the University of Lagos.
He started his broadcasting career in 1993. Having run, operated and consulted severally for various private radio stations in Nigeria for over 15 years. He has been actively involved in private Radio Broadcasting in Nigeria since 1993. He co-founded Mtech Communications in August 2001. Then worked with AIMS GROUP, an Architecture and Engineering firm which later formed a broadcasting firm called Steam Broadcasting.
He serves as the executive director of Steam broadcasting. He is also the founder and chief executive officer of Megalectrics Limited. On November 3, 2017, he became the non-Executive Director of Diamond Bank, Plc.
With beat fm in Lagos, Ibadan, Abuja, Port Harcourt and DAB, London, Naija fm in Lagos, Classic fm in Lagos and beat fm in Lagos, Megaletrics Limited has a total of eight broadcast stations both in Nigeria and overseas.
