THE FUTURE OF ISRAEL
BY LOLU AKINWUNMI

It is becoming increasingly clear that Israel’s hard posture in Palestine is provoking global resistance. More nations are moving to recognize Palestine as a sovereign state, and this trend will likely accelerate. As the tide shifts, Israel risks deeper diplomatic isolation. Global forums may become less accommodating, and pressure for accountability on settlements and human rights will only grow stronger.

The critical question is the United States. While Washington has long been Israel’s strongest ally, American public opinion is changing. Younger generations, in particular, show far greater sympathy for Palestine. At some point, future U.S. administrations may be compelled to recalibrate, moving from unconditional support to a more balanced, perhaps even critical, stance. The future of Israel may therefore hinge not only on its military or economic strength, but on how it responds to this growing wave of global resistance.

For Christians, this unfolding picture resonates deeply with Biblical prophecy. Scriptures in Ezekiel 38–39, Zechariah 12–14, and Revelation describe a time when Israel will be surrounded by hostility and nations will gather against it. Yet these same passages also affirm that Israel will not be destroyed. Instead, God Himself will intervene to defend and preserve His people, turning what looks like certain defeat into a display of His sovereignty.

Seen through this lens, today’s diplomatic trends may not just be politics as usual but part of a much larger narrative. While nations debate recognition and alliances shift, the Bible reminds us that history ultimately bends toward God’s purposes. Israel’s survival and restoration are not merely matters of geopolitics, they are woven into prophecy.

Interesting time to be alive.
