THE RISE TO FAME OF JAIYE KUTI

Jaiye Kuti, born July 10, 1969, is a famous Nigerian actress, filmmaker, and entrepreneur. She has starred in several Nollywood films and is also the CEO of Jaylex Aesthetic Production, a movie production company.

She came into prominence in 2003 in the television series, “Laff Patterns”.

Jaiye Kuti was born into the Yoruba family of Rufus Adisa Oluwale in Ilaro, Ogun State, in the South West part of Nigeria.

She is from Yewa Ayetoro, Egbado, in Ogun State, where she started her elementary education at Sunshine Primary School, but had to transfer to Temidire Primary School when her father was transferred to NITEL.

After obtaining her first certificate of completion, Jaiye Kuti enrolled in Ikorodu High School for secondary school.

She gained admission to pursue secretarial administration at the Ilaro Federal Polytechnic in Ogun State. She later went to the prestigious University of Lagos, where she received a bachelor’s degree in English. Jaiye Kuti had wanted to become a film producer, but she opted to start by acting in films in order to establish a network.

She made her film debut in the television series Laff Patterns in 2002, which paved way for her to reach spotlight and gave her the opportunity to work with top Nollywood stars.

She has appeared in a number of films, including Ashewo Airport, Si Gbogbo Okunrin and many others with several shows including One Love, Face To Face, Everyday People and Spiders.

Jaiye Kuti is married to Lanre Kuti and they have two children together, Anatasia Kuti and a boy whose name has not been disclosed.

However, she was rumored to be in a relationship legendary Fuji singer, Wasiu Alabi Odetola, popularly known as Pasuma, which she came out to debunk.
