WE CAN WIN AFCON, PESEIRO

Jose Peseiro, Super Eagles head coach, disclosed that his players encouraged him to remain as their coach, expressing their confidence that, collectively, they can secure victory in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

It will be recalled that the Portuguese coach agreed to a salary reduction to continue leading the Super Eagles Earlier this summer.

While speaking, he said, “The players pushed me to stay because they believe we can win (the AFCON).

“We can win it. The players know it. They come with the same energy, the same belief, to fight for the Super Eagles.”

Many Nigerians however, did not support his comeback as they have taken to the comment section to express their displeasure.

Barnabas Pam, “Jose still not good enough for supper Eagles compared to our former Stephen Keshi…… The performance of Jose is below average based on games played….. The present set of players are very good and they have the ability to face any club in world if properly use and manage….”

Jesse Edet Out, “If not for corruption

You wouldn’t have been employed in the first place.

Enjoy while it lasts.”

Sola Solanke opined, “It’s a lie!

He knows he can’t get a better job elsewhere, that’s why he accepted paycit from Nigeria!

He lacks technical knowhow as a coach!”

Akhaba Sunday wrote, “Will the players pay your salaries? We want. A Coach that can bring change to that team. An easy going coach will not give us the best. We need a coach with tactical discipline a no nonsense coach”
