WIFE CELEBRATES FEMI KUTI

Anthonia Bernards, wife of Afrobeat star Femi Anikulapo-Kuti, has penned a lovely note on social media to celebrate the singer’s birthday.

Femi clocked 62 on Sunday, June 16.

Celebrating the eldest son of the legendary Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, Anthonia said in an Instagram post that every day with Femi is special.

She described him as her “one and only adventurous partner,” adding that she is inspired every day by his courage and zest for life.

Anthonia, a dancer in Femi’s band, also posted photos of herself and the celebrant having a memorable time together.

“Every day with you is special, but today is super special, because it is a unique moment that I am indeed glad to felicitate with you!

“May our ancestors’ blessings continue to overflow in your life, leading you on to a new and exciting life journey. Your courage and zest for life inspires me every day. Loving you endlessly,” she wrote.

Femi was once married to another dancer Funke. They have a son named Made Kuti who is also an Afrobeat singer.

Although Femi and Funke are separated, they remain very good friends and she is a regular face at the New Afrika Shrine where Femi and their son play.
