NBC COMMENDS MTN EFFORTS

The Director General of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Mr. Charles Ebuebu, has commended MTN Nigeria for its significant contributions to the growth and development of Nigeria’s telecommunications industry.

During a recent visit to MTN Nigeria’s headquarters, Ebuebu acknowledged the company’s efforts in promoting digital inclusion and expanding access to mobile services across the country.

He also discussed potential areas of collaboration and partnership between the NBC and MTN, particularly in broadcasting content delivery and digital broadcasting, with a focus on the Digital Switch over project.

Ebuebu emphasized the importance of cooperation and collaboration between regulators and operators in the telecommunications and broadcasting industries.

He noted that such partnerships are essential for promoting innovation, driving growth, and ensuring that Nigerians have access to high-quality broadcasting and telecommunications services.

MTN Nigeria’s CEO, Mr. Karl Olutokun Toriola, welcomed the NBC DG and his team, expressing the company’s commitment to working with the Commission to advance the interests of the broadcasting and telecommunications industries in Nigeria.

The visit is part of the NBC DG’s ongoing efforts to engage with stakeholders in the broadcasting and telecommunications industries, promoting collaboration and partnership between regulators and operators. Ebuebu was accompanied by top NBC officials, including Mrs. Susan Obi, Mr. Ralph Akpan, and Mr. Ekanem Antia.

The DG also discussed areas of collaboration and partnership between the Commission and MTN, particularly in the areas of broadcasting content delivery and digital broadcasting, with special emphasis on the Digital Switch over project.
