CJID HOLDS CONFERENCE ON MEDIA

CJID to host first West Africa journalism innovation conference in Abuja.

The Centre for Journalism Innovation and Development (CJID) is set to hold the first edition of the West Africa journalism innovation conference (WAJIC’23).

The conference is expected to provide a platform for stakeholders in the media space to discuss the innovation and sustainability of media in West Africa.

The event will take place from July 25 to 26 at the Abuja Continental Hotel, Nigeria’s capital.

In a statement released on Thursday, CJID said the two-day conference will feature insightful keynote speeches, engaging panel discussions, and interactive workshops to facilitate connections and knowledge sharing among attendees.

The organisation said the renowned journalists and media executives, who will be speaking at the event will “share their experiences and insights into the ever-evolving media landscape”.

“Attendees will gain valuable insights into the latest advancements, challenges, and opportunities in the industry,” the statement reads.

“WAJIC will also present a series of workshops and hands-on sessions, offering practical training and demonstrations on cutting-edge tools, techniques, and emerging technologies relevant to journalism.

“Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from experts and explore innovative approaches in journalism.

“The West Africa journalism innovation conference will also provide a platform for journalists, media organisations, and technology companies to connect and foster partnerships.

“Attendees will have the chance to engage in meaningful discussions, share ideas, and explore potential collaborations that can transform the West African media landscape.”
