NBC AT CONTENT FORUM

In the bid to continue to encourage the production of quality and compelling Content that reflects the cultural, social and national values of Nigeria as enshrined in the Nigerian Broadcasting Code, the Commission participated at the just concluded Nigerian Electronic Media Content Exhibition and Awards, (NEMCEA) 2023 event, which took place at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos from 22nd  –  24th August, 2023.

The 3- day event featured Exhibitions, Conferences and Awards organised by the Electronic Media Content Owners Association of Nigeria (EMCOAN) in its 2nd edition,  with the theme, Reviving Traditional Broadcast Media in Nigeria: The Role of Stakeholders,  provides the platform for  media and broadcast practitioners, local and international to buy, sell, collaborate, aggregate, exchange ideas on content as well as bring to the fore issues and perspectives bothering Africa and Nigeria in particular with a view to proffering solutions.

In a goodwill message, the Director General, National Broadcasting Commission, Mall. Balarabe Shehu Ilelah, ably represented by the Zonal Director, Lagos, Mr. Ralph Akpan, informed the gathering that the NBC is always willing to partner and collaborate with any association striving to ensure that Nigerians have access to quality broadcasting driven through quality and compelling Content that reflects the aspirations of the Nigerian people for sustainable growth and development.

Mr. Ralph Akpan in conclusion, encouraged broadcast practitioners to continue to uphold the provisions of the Nigeria Broadcasting Code, while providing more content for our children that will promote cultural and moral values in order to address the negative vices being experienced in our country today.
