BILL GATES: NIGERIA IS AMAZING

Microsoft founder and billionaire, Bill Gates, has praised Afrobeats genre for changing the world of music.

The billionaire, who was in Nigeria to meet with the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, while speaking at an event in Lagos, acknowledged the impact Afrobeats has made worldwide.

He revealed he had to google Burna Boy and Rema as his daughter, Phoebe Adele, told him he would get to see the two. The business magnate and cofounder of Microsoft disclosed further that his youngest daughter, Phoebe, was excited she would see superstars like Burna Boy and Rema, during his visit to Nigeria.

Gates who spoke while delivering his opening address at an event in Lagos State, ‘Advancing Africa: Unleashing the power of youth in science and innovation’, said Phoebe told him she would be lucky to see Nigerian Afrobeats stars, Burna Boy and Rema during his stay in Nigeria.

Recall that Gates and Aliko Dangote visited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday.

The visitation was part of the Gates Foundation’s commitment to working closely with communities and leaders to support innovation.

In his speech on artificial intelligence, the Microsoft cofounder noted that artificial intelligence has taken the education tools for the motivated person to “a whole new level”.

He further revealed that being here in Nigeria, he can’t help but mention the amazing creativity that goes on here.

He noted “my kids think I’ve come to a very hip place”.
