MY FATHER INFLUENCES ME, DAVIDO

Nigerian Singer, David Adeleke, professionally known as Davido, has confessed the reason he donated the monies he raised during his birthday last year to charity.

He made this statement on The Daily Show hosted by Trevor Noah, as he started his ‘We rise by lifting others’ tour.

He said that the world’s situation and his dad, Adedeji Adeleke, motivated him to donate the money.

“Despite my status as Davido, my dad is one person in my life that will give me an instruction to do something, and no matter how difficult it is, I’ll do it. I may not find the instruction easy, but I’ll still do it. I respect him that much.

I’ve said this before, that when my friends donated 200 million naira to me, my dad called me and said, son, you know you can’t keep this money. You need to give it out. Truth is, I didn’t think in that direction before. But when my dad said it, I listened to him and gave it out to orphanages across Nigeria”

Different reactions have followed his confession as many citizens praised him for honouring his parents.

Azic Solomon wrote: “Poor man don’t listen to their parents.”

Henry Akoba: “When you have a dad you cherish him, some have just fathers.”

Patriques Okite: “Honour your father and mother so that your days on earth may be long.” The only commandment that comes with a promise attached to it.

Davido took it personally that is why the heavens are raining the rain of blessings and favours on him.

Never underestimate the blessings that comes with honouring your parents.”
