NIGERIA’S ELIZABETH WINS WORLD BOXING CHAMPIONSHIP

Nigerian Boxer, Elizabeth Oshoba has emerged the World Champion in women’s featherweight category.

Oshoba knocked out Italy’s Michela Braga in the 10th round of World Boxing Council (WBC) Silver Female featherweight bout to claim the world title and extended her professional bout record to 7-0.

In November 2023, the 24-year old beat Italy’s Martina Righi in Swindon, England to clinch the International Boxing Organization (IBO) International title.

It will be recalled that Oshoba participated in the 2022 Commonwealth Games in the Featherweight division and won a silver medal.
