Ogunsina lamented that hosts often read directly from their phones, citing online articles without verification, and fail to reference specific newspaper pages. This, he said, misleads listeners and undermines the integrity of the shows. He criticized the practice of hosts mocking colleagues or rival stations instead of providing informative content.
The presenter questioned the authenticity of stories presented as print news when they are actually online exclusives not yet published in dailies. This practice, he argued, further erodes the credibility of newspaper review shows.
Ogunsina suggested that radio stations could easily purchase copies of popular newspapers to maintain credibility, estimating the cost to be around ₦5,000 for several dailies.
This, he believes, would help restore the integrity of newspaper review shows and provide listeners with accurate and reliable information.
