The AI anchors will deliver news in five languages: English, Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo, and Pidgin, catering to a diverse audience across Nigeria.
According to Edward Akintara, Corporate Communications Manager, the introduction of AI news anchors is part of TVC’s efforts to expand its coverage and embrace new technology.
This innovative step aims to enhance the viewership experience and reach a broader audience.
Mrs. Victoria Ajayi, CEO of TVC Communications, assured that the AI news anchors will not replace human broadcasters. Instead, they will be used to showcase the dexterity and expertise of the company’s human talent. TVC Communications owns several stations, including TVC News, TVC Entertainment, and various radio stations, with a combined audience of over 27 million.
TVC News’ introduction of AI news anchors marks a significant milestone in Nigerian broadcasting, highlighting the company’s commitment to innovation and quality content delivery.
