D1: MY WIFE DIDN’T LEAVE BECAUSE OF MONEY

Popular Nigerian television and radio personality Dayo Adeneye, also known as Dayo D1, has revealed one of the reasons his wife left him, while also stating the kind of impact his work rate had on his marriage at the time.

According to the video that was posted on the official YouTube channel of With Chude during an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, he made it known that his wife never left him because of money, saying that his work rate was part of the reasons his wife broke up with him.

When asked if his wife had left him because of money, Dayo D1 said, “That’s a misunderstanding, because I read somewhere that my wife left me because I didn’t have money. I have never been short of money in my life, so that’s a misconception. I have always enjoyed what I do, and some of my happiest moments were when I didn’t have a lot of money because I had nothing to worry about. My salary was seventeen thousand naira at the time, it was a good salary for me in those days because Fela was the highest paid musician at the time, and he was being paid twenty five thousand naira. My wife didn’t leave me because of money, we both had issues, and I was working too much.”
